Everyday, children across the world set off for school. In their quest for an education, some
walk, while others go by bike, by boat, by bus, by rickshaw or even on a modified motorcycle that fits twenty kids. In Tibet, some lucky children get a lift to school on horseback. Some must travel – often by foot – long distances through difficult terrain, while others have the luxury of a bus. The interactive LEAP methodology, encourages photo- detectives to search the images for clues that reveal fascinating information about young people – and cultures across the world. Students will also discover how culture, history and geography are often reflected in the different modes of transport. A world map on each page shows where each photograph was taken.
